Members are classified into the following divisions for the purpose of grouping competitions for members of similar photographic skill levels: Master, Advanced(A) or Beginner(B). The classification of a member could be automatic or elective.
Automatic. At the start of each club year, returning members are classified based on the points they have accumulated over the past years. A club member who has earned at least 25 honour points must compete in the Masters Division. A member who has earned 10 to 19 competition points must compete in the Advanced Division. Elective. A new or returning member has the option of being classified into any one of the divisions without necessarily earning the requisite honour/competition points. However, once a member has elected to be classified in a given division, reverting to a lower Division is not allowed. There are club competitions that are classfied as Open Division. This means that members compete for the same award or placement regardless of their designated Division levels. This applies to some monthly competition categories as well as certain year-end awards. |
