TOP: "Fall Colours" by Zuzana Capar
"My first photo essay. The images are from Algonquin Park taken in October 2009
on our club outing. All of them were taken with a slow shutter speed to create
a painterly effect. "
RU: "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by Margarete Brunne
"I always like to illustrate certain songs. I have fun putting pictures to the
lyrics. This combined version of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “What a wonderful
world”, which I used for this show, is a long time favourite of mine. After
we came back from a holiday in Iceland, I had all the rainbows that I needed
to finally do this show. I purposely stayed away from all those fancy dissolves
that ProShow provides. I feel that the simple dissolves suit the character of
this song and my show best."
HM: "Thou should not die and be Forgotten" by Toni Wallachy
"I have been photographing forgotten treasures in and around the rust belt
for over 3 years. It still amazes me, how every time I step into a space that
has fallen quiet to urban activity, the ancient walls still sing - albeit, a
heartbreaking song. There is a strength and perseverance in these desolate structures
that fight to stay alive, that fight to be remembered and fight to be seen -
once again."
