Each year the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs (GTCCC), of which the TCC is a member, holds an Interclub Competition open to all members of its constituent clubs. The 2010 Competition is now under way, the Competition Rules and Entry Forms are available, and you should prepare and submit your entries. Traditionally the Toronto Camera Club has made a strong showing, and I would very much like to see that tradition continue.
There are four categories this year, and you are permitted a maximum of two entries in each, for a maximum of eight entries overall:
- Nature Projection
- Pictorial Projection
- Colour Prints
- Monochrome Prints
Please note these important changes from last year's competition:
- slides may no longer be entered
- the print size sub-categories Small and Large have been eliminated
- entries qualifying as Nature must be entered in Nature - they are no longer permitted in Pictorial
- as with TCC print competitions, the original digital image is requested to accompany each print entry
- Black's is no longer sponsoring the competition, hence they are not awarding cash prizes [but don't let that deter you...]
The entry procedure is complicated slightly this year by the fact that I am out of town weekdays for all of January, but we'll work around that. Fees may be given to any Board member at Club meetings, and they will set them aside for me; you must have exact change, they will not make change for you. This is on the honour system, and we can't extend credit. In the basement room there will be a box for digital entries (CDs/DVDs) and entry forms, and table space for prints - look for the GTCCC Interclub sign.
Entries (digital images, prints, and entry forms and cash entry fees) must be submitted at the Toronto Camera Club and/or by e-mail to me no later than Friday evening, January 22 to allow me - as GTCCC rep - to review and process them and to prepare them for the GTCCC club deadline of January 28. No extensions will be granted, unlike in some of our Club competitions. For convenience you may wish to bring your entries to the International Salon presentation on Monday, January 18.
The official Competition Rules and the individual Entry Form are posted on the GTCCC Web site at:

Complete Rules
Entry Form (Individual...)
On the entry form, our Club Code is TC and I will be assigning the Maker Number (so just use "XX"). Please ensure that you read the Rules carefully and completely, especially if you are entering for the first time.
The Interclub presentation will be Saturday March 20, at the Toronto Camera Club. Tentatively there will be two showings, at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - details will follow at a later date.
*** NOTES ***
1. Entry form
You MUST include a completed individual Entry Form with your submission. The one on the GTCCC Web site is a MS Excel document. If you don't have Excel, ask me by e-mail for a PDF version, print it and complete it in pen, and submit the paper copy.
2. Fees
$1 for each image entered (print or projection digital image), as indicated in the Rules, payable as described above, to the maximum of $8. CASH ONLY, no cheques please, correct change only; I then write a single cheque to the GTCCC for the total from all entrants.
3. Digital image naming
You may suspect that the Rules were written by or for computer people or lawyers :-) . To make it clear: no maker name or image name in the file name, unlike for TCC competition entries; those appear only on your entry form. Use "XX" for the maker number throughout, as I will assign it later. Thus a sample pictorial digital entry would have exactly this file name, no more and no less: TCXXPD1.JPG . You just have to trust that I know which ones are yours.
