Beginners Photoshop Workshop |

This is a sign up notice for a "Beginners Photoshop" workshop we are planning for the afternoon of Sunday Jan 24 2010. It will be held from 2pm to 4:30 pm at the club.
Please read this notice carefully and don't assume you can attend until you receive acknowledgment regarding your participation.
Some details:
-
This will be a "hands on" workshop intended for individuals who are just starting to use Photoshop and/or Elements.
-
Logistics dictate that participation must be strictly limited to 15 people.
-
Class members will work on the same images on their laptops, sitting at a table.
-
To participate you must have (and bring) a laptop, which is equipped with a version of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Elements that enables you to do "Layers".
-
We recommend that you come equipped with versions of Photoshop or Elements that are not older than Photoshop 7 or Elements 5.
-
Note the latest versions are Photoshop CS4 (about $750 US) and Elements 8. The last time I checked Costco was selling Elements 8 for less than $100.
-
This curriculum will involve an overview of the main functions and tools of Photoshop including an explanation of how to use layers.
-
Since space is strictly limited, it would be highly inappropriate to sign up and then not show up (which unfortunately has happened in the past). You would be depriving someone else of the opportunity. To deal with this issue, there will be a $40.00 "security deposit". You must pay first in order to be fully registered to participate. A full refund will be given on course completion. No cancellations allowed. If unable to attend, you can transfer your spot, if you can find a club member interested in replacing you (club members only). No show, no refund.
-
Our instructor will be Steve Morley (Frank will be his assistant).
If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Frank Eberdt at

We will then coordinate my getting your security deposit. This will be "first come first served", so send me an email if you are interested.
If interest is high, and the logistics work out, we will explore repeating the beginner's workshop and may also hold a subsequent intermediate workshop.
