The weekend started with an impromptu party on the sunny terrace of the Killarney Bay Inn on Friday afternoon followed by a ' light ' dinner of fish & chips at Herbert's by the marina. The group then descended upon the rocky shores of Georgian Bay around the East Lighthouse for the sunset shoot, the only problem being to frame the perfect vista without the intrusion of someone else's tripod legs.

Saturday morning was clear and calm as 20 members took 2 boats to cross the bay to Partridge Island for sunrise. Many thanks to Ralph, Lillian and Brian who have scouted out this location on the previous day. The pink dawn was ephemeral as it clouded over shortly afterwards. A detour to the ' Indian Head ' rock and the calm anchorage of the Covered Portage Cove  yielded some perfect reflection shots.

Re-energized after breakfast, some made the gruelling climb up to the ' Crack ' while others looked for mushrooms along the Granite Ridge Trail. And some took a much needed snooze... In the evening, a hearty dinner was enjoyed by all at the Killarney Bay Inn. Check out all the happy, smiling faces around the dinner tables on the website. I bet the camping group must be envious.

At 5.30 AM  Sunday morning, while another 20 members boated to Partridge Island, a group did the hike in the dark over slippery granite along the Chikanishing trail to Collins Inlet on Georgian Bay. A hazy sunrise over the mist was the reward as we found new compositions and interpretations in this classic landscape.
